Has Your Relationship With Other Men Been Affected?

Fifty-four percent (21) of the daughters whose fathers were reportedly absent said that the absence of their fathers affected their relationships with other men. On the other hand, 36% (14) of these daughters felt that the absence of their fathers from their lives did not affect their relationships with other men. Ten percent (4) of the 39 women said that their fathers being absent may have affected their relationships with other men. These results seem to coincide with the research findings posited earlier, that daughters whose fathers were absent from their lives experience different challenges in their relationships with other men. This is something that cannot and should not be overlooked. Although in this study, there was a greater number of daughters with present fathers than absent, the fact that even one daughter has been affected by paternal absenteeism, should be enough reason to pay attention to the effects of this dilemma on daughters.
